Adult Tennis in 2016

Adult tennis opportunities

We have 2 adult memberships – full and off peak.

Full membership allows you to play on the courts at any time and to take part in club sessions on Monday evenings, Tuesday mornings (cost £1), Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons.

Off peak membership allows you to play on the courts during the day up to 6pm on weekdays. You can also attend the club session on Tuesday mornings, which cost £1.

We will be starting our introduction to tennis classes for adults at the club on Saturday 16th April 10.30-11.30. These sessions are run by our club coach and they are a good way to start tennis or to build up some skills and confidence if you have played before. The classes will run until the end of September and cost £5 per session. They are open to non-members and people often come to these classes for a few weeks before deciding to join.
We also have an informal session for beginners and parents of junior players on Mondays from 5.30-7.00 which is free for members.
We will be running a special club session on Mondays from 6.30 for full club members. We will designate courts for players of different levels of confidence. If we get enough people attending we will have 4 levels – which we are going to name by colours as in skiing: green for beginners; blue for improvers; red for confident players; black for super stars. The idea is to get lots of people playing at the same time but with everyone playing at the standard they want to. We will not put you into a particular colour; it will be up to you to choose. If we don’t get enough for 4 levels we may put colours together e.g. green and blue and we will make sure that the less confident players get to play together. We will open the bar from 8.00 and encourage players to socialise when they have played enough. There will be no charge for these sessions which will start on Monday May 9th.
We hold club sessions on Thursday evenings from 6pm and on Saturday afternoons from 1pm. These sessions are free of charge and open to full club members and players of all standards join in using a peg board system. There is an organised session on Tuesday mornings open to all members for which there is a charge of £1.
There are several groups of members who arrange their own sessions during the day. The courts are available all the time for games you arrange yourself but the organised sessions on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons may limit court availability.
We enter 6 men’s teams, 4 ladies’ teams and 2 mixed teams in the South and Mid-Cheshire League for those who want to play competitively. Men’s and ladies’ matches are played on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and mixed matches on Sunday mornings.
