HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE AGM

SUBSCRIPTIONS SET FOR 2016
Full adult subscriptions will be £195 for the year with £10 discount if paid before May 1st. Off peak subscription will be £122 for the year.

You will be able to pay full adult, full joint and off peak subscriptions in 12 monthly instalments by direct debit. We are setting up the facility to do this via the LTA ClubSpark system. There will be a 2% charge to cover the costs of the system. Details will be sent out in the next couple of weeks.

You can pay your subs by more traditional methods (cheque, cash or BACS) transfer at any time from now on to Marion or to Ian Walker.

The meeting endorsed the committee’s plans to close the gap between full and off peak membership in recognition of the extra play and subsequent wear to the court from members playing off peak. The committee was asked to bring a proposal to next year’s AGM on how to merge the 2 membership categories into one.

Junior and playing parent subscriptions will not change.

MAGIC MONDAYS-NEW IDEA FOR MONDAY CLUB SESSIONS
The committee had been asked to think about how to make club nights more attractive to members. The committee’s proposal to focus on Monday evenings was endorsed. The club session will be run by a member of the committee. When you arrive you will be asked the level of tennis you wish to play. We will have four levels: Black being the hardest hitting; Red being next; then Blue for improvers and Green for beginners. We will then make up fours to play at these levels. The idea is to provide tennis at the right standard for everyone from new starters to 1st team players. We will open the bar from 8 o’clock and encourage members to come into the club house when they have finished playing. We will start these sessions on 9th May and continue until September.

NEW COMMITTEE MEMBER
Emma Walton was elected to be a committee member.

NEW LIFE MEMBER
Ken Mitchell was elected to be a life member of the club. Ken has been a member for 37 years and he has contributed a lot to the club over the years, especially wielding a paint brush! He also brings his own special brand of self commentary to the court. Congratulations to Ken.
